Work and Life Intertwined

Each period below reflects not only the roles I held, but the environments, responsibilities, and experiences that shaped how I think and operate in the world. The work itself mattered, but so did the communities, pressures, mistakes, and reflections that came with it.

This collection is less a traditional résumé and more a chronological record of formation. Each chapter describes what I was responsible for at the time and how those experiences changed the way I approach responsibility, leadership, and community today.

A raw journey through nature’s extremes

After leaving Hawaiʻi, I stepped back to rebuild and reflect. I completed my PMP certification, trained as a Wilderness EMT, and spent time examining how I had approached work and responsibility. This period brought a quieter clarity and set the foundation for what comes next.

Under the Weight 2022-2025

Leading a project at scale revealed both my capacity to build complex systems and the fragility of tying identity to them

At Hawaiʻi Good Food Alliance, I helped build systems supporting large-scale food system initiatives across multiple regions. The work expanded quickly, bringing both opportunity and pressure, and pushing me to operate at a higher level. It was a period that tested my capacity and reshaped how I understood work, responsibility, and identity.

Integrating Experiences in Hawaiʻi 2019-2021

First three years in Hawaiʻi transformed field experience into systems leadership, and began to test my assumptions

In Hawaiʻi, I stepped into leadership while staying grounded in hands-on work. I supported school garden programs across the island while living and working on an off-grid property, developing both systems-level thinking and practical skills. It was a period of growth, connection, and increasing responsibility.

Peace Corps 2016-2018

Building community in unconventional ways

Serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in a remote mountain community, I learned to live and work without clear direction. What began as uncertainty turned into deep connection, shaped by language, relationships, and time spent alongside others. It was where responsibility, humility, and purpose became real to me.

A decision to follow the path less traveled leads to Asia

I moved to South Korea to teach English, stepping away from the path I thought I was supposed to follow. The work was often unpredictable, requiring patience, adaptability, and a willingness to learn without much structure. It was the first time I chose experience over expectation.
